I shoot Black Eagle 100% Carbon Arrows 350 grain, and they stop perfectly with my 70lb compound. I would assume that a smaller diameter would stop just as well despite the smaller size because it would have slightly less kinetic energy/weight behind the shot. If you are worried just make the target 12" deep and you should be totally fine. But like I said in this instrucable its always good to have some sort of back drop behind the target for extra safety.Good Luck if on making it, if you decide to give it a try.

I actually already did. I even brought the bow into BassPro and they loved it. They also measured my draw length and we added a new correct length string and arrow rest. The bow has a 32lb draw weight and shoots like a dream.
