Fasting one or 2 days a week is in fact well-supported by science. For most people who are basically in good health, it's safe and effective. If you don't think so, spend a few minutes researching this and you will learn for yourself that it is safe/effective.
This post omits one very important fact: there is good solid scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness, and safety, of fasting. And it's much easier than you might think. I fasted for 2 days a week (actually, less than 600 calories per day) for several weeks and lost 7 lbs.
