DIY wooden $5 iPad Dock / Stand
Thanks for sharing! Great, clean design and very practical! Here's my first take, without any finish, just some sanding.
Didn't have a Forstner Bit to drill the proper hole so I used a hole saw bit. I used a biscuit joiner to cut the speaker slot, then drilled past the slot as to create a resonance chamber behind the ipad. Then I proceeded with your instructions. Then I used a roundover bit to finish the edges nicely. Finally, I ironed on my logo and varnished it. Thank you for the instructable. roundover on
There are 25.4 mm in every inch, that should take care of metric conversions. As for the fractions to decimal here are a few common ones1/32 = .031251/16 = .06251/8 = .1251/4 = .251/2 = .5LOL
This looks awsome but I dont work in mm or decimals of an inch my measuring tape only has fractions
Well done! And thank you :)
Nice. Walnut is lovely for a Wooden iPad Stand!
Buy a coping saw for 10$. And you can get a chunk of walnut for way under 5$.
All of my best wood tools I made with woodprix. Google and try it.

This is so cool. I plan on making this next. It looks pretty simple. I made a jewelry box out of a log for my girlfriend. It came out really well and she loved it. http://allthingsinterestingppf.com/2015/12/26/diy-jewelry-box-2/
