Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! I'm trying SO hard to change this photo! Crying in my ice cream. Sadness.
I made them in Girl Scouts and I put mine it in a pillow case, folded it over and sewed it shut. I am getting ready to make them for my Sunday School class, I teach toddlers and pre-K. I am going to put them in vinyl, reusable shopping bags. Then I will sew it shut and they have a sit-up with a handle.
Hey, whatever works!
My wife found this trap of yours, and we both agree it's nice. Until I can get one done and hung, I have been " Toing-ing" them with a rusty old rip saw.

Carpenter Bee Trap
have *it* pointing down....
There seems to be an issue of 'what keeps the bees in the jar'.The solution is to add a mesh cone to the top of the jar. Have the pointing down with a half inch opening. They'll be able to go from wood box into the glass, not from the glass into the box. If you've ever made a home made wasp trap (like this style http://tipnut.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dfbzd.jpg) then just add the catch basin on the bottom just same for the bees.
Blackberry jelly for the pickin'
I have an instructable just for that! http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Primitive-Pottery-Firing/
Try a good old fashioned fire.... make it hot and make it last a relatively long time. look up Raku firing as an example (the times i did it it was a bit like firing in the elbow of a rocket stove)
