Getting Started with Electronics
The arc tube in the bulb contains mercury and usually when the lamp dies, it's caused by the tube that breaks or cracks, making it's pressure and mercury vapors to escape into the glass bulb. Also, the arc tube is usually pressurized at around 50psi so opening them up is pretty risky. So yeah, I really don't recommend doing it.Hope this helps. :D
