About:I'm an industrial arts major at SFSU with an empahsis in product design.
I'm online all the time and I find myself constantly checking out these sites: ebay.com, wikipedia, boingboing.net, makezine.com, instructables.com, craigslist.com, thesamba.com, gizmodo.com, fleshbot.com, and a bunch more!
I've lately been interested in special fx, from mold making to prop building. I really love practical fx and not so much computer generated effects.
my aol aim is FreakCitySF hit me up! I'd love to chat with you!
Well I would have liked to at least made it to the finalists. I thought making it to the finalists would have been fair. I know it's not based on views (over 100K now) but I thought it would be original and creative enough for some merit. Didn't make the cut though so back to the drawing board. I would have loved to provided free cutting for laser contest members. Hopefully the winner will do something creative with it.
You know I saw the laser cutter at last year's maker faire and there was a small line but I had nothing to etch :( I watched people getting their cell phones etched and I thought It would be nice to have something, anything etched but I walked away hands in my pockets moving on because I didnt know to bring something to be etched. I think I have a good shot at winning this and I hope I can make this machine accessible, perhaps continuing on someones initial idea to provide free etchings to maker faire attendees. I think the SJ tech musuem would be another fun place to give free etchings.
I can't sleep. I did it to myself. Next time someone secretly enter me into a contest. So I can at least sleep soundly. I have wires on my eyes and temple to detect REM sleep. I'm uploading it so everyone can see how much sleep I've lost. Can that be taken into account for the grand prize? Maybe in contests in the near future...
