Thank you!! i did design one, more swore than the one above, for our cats! they would've loved it! It turns out, for some breeds (like our dachshund) hammock beds are great, as they don't put too much pressure on their joints.... So far the uprights are holding very well! and Bentley (one of our dogs) is a complete lunatic and jumps in and out of it all day!! like i said in another comment, if i were making it for a lager dog, i would add steel brackets to the legs to help with support :)
Its kind of difficult to tell, my two don't weigh more than 8kg, and it'd say it'll probably go up to about 12kg... If i were making one for a larger dog, i'd fabricate some brackets from 3mm stainless steel, to match the angle of the legs, it adds a design feature, pls would sure up the up stands for lager dogs. I would also upgrade the fixings for the hammock, perhaps doubling up on the fabric, with hessian between the two layers, so that the eyelets can spread the load through the fabrics.
i did think about braces, to help support the legs... but decided against it, it's glued with titebond glue, so shouldn't go anywhere lol
