HI GAARK, IS THE B&D DRILL AND THE MAKITA THE SAME JUST REBRANDED? WHAT ABOUT THEIR BATTERIES; ARE THEY THE SAME UNIT?
THANKS

2 totally different drills :)

The B&D battery has been disposed of now and the drill is still a bit grumpy and needs a whack to get it spinning sometimes, but at least I've got a battery drill with a hammer function to drill stone.

I've got 3 Makita 18v batts and 2 drills (1 and 1/2 now HAHA!) cos some *&@% stole my first spare batt and charger. Sh^t happens, so I made a chocolate milkshake out of it.

Aha!! It's a 'repair' I had to do as the Black and Deckers charger died on me. I found a pic of the original B&D before I gave it the chop.

What I did was cut the bottom half of the handle off and remove the hand guard at the front. I then did the same to one of my Makita drills which was starting to get a bit cranky.

I used a bench grinder to smooth out the inside of all the handle pieces so that I could rivet the tops and bottoms together with bits of metal sheet which I cut to size.

Then soldered on the wires from the B&D drill trigger to the Makita battery contacts and reassembled the whole thing.

Hey presto!! A slightly ugly but 'works well' drill!
