I`ve been cooking for many years now. And most of my cookings contain unions! i learned this trick from a cheff from the army. My grandad. Take your union put it in the cutting board. Cut with a sharp knife through the union from roots to leafs side. No you got 2 halfs. Lay them flat on service cut the leaf part of first then the root part. Remember wich side is wich. Peal the union. Then do all the kind of slices you want from the root side. And believe me no Tears!
