Whilst IF can effect weight loss in some people, it's not been shown to be sustainable for the long term, with rebounding often occurring. Of the five women at work that were undertaking IF for almost a year and lost some weight, ALL have now regained the weight plus more another year later, even though two are still undertaking IF. I'd be seriously cautious about entering into calorie restriction, which is basically what you're doing by fasting. This has been confirmed by studies that show that whilst IF helps lower diagnosis of CVD and diabetes, IF is not correlated with sustained weight loss: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26135345.Focussing on healthy living rather than weight loss is a far better pursuit in my opinion. Being thin does not necessarily equate to being healthy.
