About:I live in Massachusetts and I love flying airplanes and gliders. When I'm not flying, I'm doing my next best hobby, ham radio (mainly code work). I have all sorts of radio scanners, aircraft transceivers, keys, vibroplex's, and other types of radios. In my free time, I spend my time inventing wooden model aircraft, boats, and lighter-than-air crafts. And I also have began my third year of Civil War Reenacting.
I have always wondered why you need a license, what are the reasons? There was a art. in a local paper about HAM radio but no real mention about having to have a license. is there a misnomer about getting a license.
So people know what they're doing, because it can be somewhat dangerous at times when you don't know what you're doing, so you have to take an exam proving you are competent. It just tests your basic knowledge of electronics and such, nothing crazy.
