I'm wondering what the reason is for needing to reset the pin each time. I would think a simple open\close comparison would be better. Currently I need to close the wire to 3.3v to cause a change, then back to ground to cause another change. Most door switches will only have open\close. I am use to door sensors that don't need to be reset, ie, open the sensor and an even is triggered, close the sensor and an event is triggered. Thoughts?
