Litter Genie Refill Hack
A simple, yet beautiful, easy to do design. You also described it very nicely and your photos were great. One little suggestion as to the "paper", whenever I am doing some painting on my walls, bookcases or whatever, I always get a few color chips from the paint store to compare colors in my home. You could actually use these as long as you cover the back of the bottom-most piece. That way you are actually recycling what you don't need. These could also be done with hand painted watercolor paper. The possibilities are endless.

Oh and I think the "reversing" could also be called mountain fold one cut area, then valley fold one cut area, then mountain fold, etc. That is for ppl who are more used to Origami, which popups are considered to be (origami architecture). The comment and picture from knopfling brings in an interesting secondary treatment of the paper cuts, allowing the possibility of actually 2 designs from the same cut by sort of double folding each cut..
Very nice and it could be applied to so many different shapes, beings, and unusual designs. Although, I must say, it takes plenty of patience to do the unfolding/folding. Great job though.

Excellent project, description and pictures. I thank your grandfather too. Definitely a favorite for me and a vote for you. But, as others have said, make sure you take safety precautions; shoes, eye protection, work gloves, etc. This will help you stay well for many future projects. ;)

Kill household ants - Super cheaply
Hopefully, by now, your ants are gone or you have actually moved and left your living quarters to them. An alternative for borax is boric acid. Boric acid is especially great for cockroaches. They both work on the same principle. Check your pharmacy for boric acid or a chemical supply store. We have 20 Mule Team Borax laundry detergent additive here, so you might want to check your laundry aisle of your grocery store. Both of them work. I have currently set up a catch and release program on my window sills, between the window and the window screen, I set a 7 day medicine holder filled with borax, sugar, jelly and water. This way I can lure them to that before they actually make it in the house and I can see if it's working and it keeps it away from kids and pets. My fingers are crossed.
