    Cheap, easy, low-waste bookshelf plans

Hi Ken,I did find that local hardware stores had MUCH better lumber prices than the big box stores. Not to mention the wood was much straighter. In the end I was able to price out right around the original estimate of about $60 per bookshelf. I built two. Not sure what's around you in Sierra Vista, but maybe there are smaller local hardware stores closer than the big box stores.

My cost is coming out to closer to $100 with about $70 alone being the lumber. I'm looking at the big box stores. Is there another source for a homeowner to get lumber? I'm looking at common board pine.
