This is one great workbench. I really liked the creative design and especially the well thought out woodworking techniques you used in building it. I'll certainly be using some of your methods and ideas on future projects of my own. You are very fortunate to have such a great collection of tools at your disposal - I envy you! A very well written and documented Instructable - keep them coming!
I sized the box to fit snugly around the raised motor housing on my Ridgid shop vac. It is very stable since the weight of the unit is centered directly over the shop vac. For a different brand of vacuum you may need to get more creative (like gluing sandpaper to the bottom of your dust collection box). I appreciate your kind words. Thanks to you too!
My furnace thermostat, like many units, also runs the humidifier based on a desired level I set. Older humidifiers may have a separate control (humidistat) mounted next to the furnace thermostat. In either case, the humidistat senses the humidity level and turns the unit on and off to maintain the desired level of moisture set by the user. My best guess is that the humidistat is malfunctioning and may need to be replaced. You would need to have that work done by a qualified technician. FYI, I replaced our original humidifier after about 15 years. The unit in the instructable was 11 years old when it broke down so investing in a new one may not be the worst idea. Let me know how you make out.
Sorry, but the answer is beyond my level of expertise.

Another beautiful project. Well done!
True, but it would only guide one edge of the shoe which means the user could still drift off line. Also, it wouldn't have the benefit of the zero clearance cutting feature which I think is a big plus. If you use a zero clearance insert on your table saw you'll get the point.
