I was a paperboy in Jersey City delivering the Jersey Journal. I was given a hollow quarter as part of the payment for the paper. I noticed it when dropped onto the tile floor in the hallway of the apartment bldg. the quarter looked real. back then the quarters were either all or mostly silver, not the copper band ones. as soon as it hit the floor the sound was something weird. the coin was assembled like a chocolate coin in foil.
