Did you ever receive a sufficient answer to your question and/or replace your top? I have to replace the canvas top every year as even the most durable one I've been able to find ($300 for a 10' x 12') is a stronger canvas but the tabs are still garbage and rip as soon as the monsoon winds start to blow (Phoenix). I'm tired of replacing it and have been trying to figure out a way to incorporate an aluminum or acrylic top. Problem is - I don't believe the structure can support the advise I've seen below. The frame for the gazebo top consist of 8 aluminium rods (for lack of a better word) appx 1-1/2' thick. I am at a complete loss as to how to get something to adhere to the frame and, even if I figure it out, won't be too heavy and buckle under the weight.
