    Arduino controlled light dimmer

Hi, I made the circuit but have some issues.when i provide a constant dimming value of eg. 20 or 30 the light is constantly ON and that is OK. increasing the value from 20 to 30 reduces the brightness. However when I go over 50 (cca over 5ms = half a period) the light starts flickering (looks like reducing very quickly from full brightness to 0) If I put the dimmer at cca 120 (close to 9ms delay) the same thing is happening but the time for flicker(reducing from full to off) is greater. I would expect that at constant trigger value of cca 8ms delay the light should be constantly very dimmed and not flicker.the same as it behaves on cca 2ms delay.I tried the TRIAC ON/OFF and it works (inserted the code you provided). Also I do not think that the problem is in the range (5%-95%) of the d...see more »Hi, I made the circuit but have some issues.when i provide a constant dimming value of eg. Also I do not think that the problem is in the range (5%-95%) of the dimming value since it happens (flickering) also in the range of about 60%-80%. The flicker is not behaving erratically, but it seams to be a smooth but a very quick dimming from full to Off.Can you help me out here?

Thanks for the quick feedback. What I tried is reading the zeroCrossing signal out on the arduino.I am not sure how fast arduino can process it and print it out, but when I use polling method and constantly read on digital pin 2 where the zeroCrossing is coming and use serial.printl to print it on screen i get the following repeating string10010000000000001001...so 12 ZEROS following a ONE with 2 ZEROS and then ONE again and then 12 ZEROS and so on.What I do not get is why I am getting 2 closely repeating 1s. It seams like I get zeroCrossing registered in a groups of two times in a row (with 2 zeros in between).I assume I should be getting only one "1" every 10ms. Right?1 here means that it is going through the zeroCrossing, right?

Hi, very nice project.Just a quick question before I start. What would be the total limit of the Wattage for the loads in this project? Does it depend only on the source?
