About Hi everyone! Here I have posted some of the instructions from our project ‘Kirigami for Kids’. The idea behind this project was to simplify the steps of classic paper cutting and folding activities to just a few simple steps. We have intentionally used simple line drawings rather than photographs to make it as simple to follow as possible. Just like flat pack furniture instructions there are no words! The instructions are universal and intended for children to use lateral thinking and prudent judgment to complete each example. - Book synopsis - In this step-by-step book you will be able to work through enjoyable paper modelling activities. Children will get a sense of satisfaction from making each model as well as improving their ability to follow illustrated instructions whilst developing their lateral thinking and coordination. Kirigami is the skill of creating art from folding and cutting paper. Kirigami is a Japanese word “kiri” = to cut, “gami” = paper. These activities are intended for children of 5 years and above. They should be able to follow the instructions without guidance. However, some parental supervision may be required when cutting. If you have enjoyed these instructions and want more go to http://www.freewebstore.org/Make-Design-and-Publishing to get the full activity book. Thanks!
