And yet if he didn't write a disclaimer and someone was stupid enough not to think it through (oh, believe me, society and the teens etc these days can make you cringe!) and caused damage or worse, I'm sure they'd sue Instructables and him etc. It's better to be safe than sorry. ;)

Aww thank you for the beautiful comment. If we can help another child to have language that others can understand (because what really is language if no one understands) then this 'ible will have served its purpose. Blessings to you, your position (thank you for doing what you do! You are so valuable!), and the children you bless. :)

Aww thanks :) Hahahaha! That sounds like an AWESOME way to keep them off your rubbing alcohol! Brilliant!

I dont think a penny by itself will electrocute a snail. Some commenters below suggested the snails in their area would just go over the penny. I'm sure the different biochemical makeup of each snail variety will react differently to the penny. But, it does for sure produce a shock effect in most snails. And I have seen some comments below detailing how to make simple wire setups (using copper wiring) for the actual purpose of electrocuting the snails to death. It also may have something to do with the content of the pennies not all being made from high dosages of copper these days. Here's a brief historical recap for your consideration: "But newer pennies are made mostly of zinc. Here's the history, according to the U.S. Mint: From 1837 to 1857, the cent was made of bronze (95 per...see more »
I know this was awhile ago, but I recently found some new information out that might answer why you saw some snails crossing over pennies. The older pennies used to be made of mostly copper. Copper mixes with the biochemical makeup of a snail to provide an electroshock which the snail tries to avoid (such as a dog avoids barking to avoid the electric shock of a shock collar). BUT, apparently these days, the newer pennies are made mostly of zinc, which wouldn't produce any reaction from a snail. Here's a brief historical recap, "But newer pennies are made mostly of zinc. Here's the history, according to the U.S. Mint: From 1837 to 1857, the cent was made of bronze (95 percent copper, and five percent tin and zinc). From 1857, the cent was 88 percent copper and 12 percent nickel, giv...see more »

The one about my other apraxia ible? Yes, sir. But I don't have any good ideas as of yet. Btw, if there's anyone to bake the perfect "moldy" bread...It's you! When you perfect it...Send me pics! (I know you read this ible, so if you ever do one just on a baggie, let me know too) :)
It's looking good so far. I used a regular width marker (not thin/pen tip). But yeah, hoping to see your updated progress :)

Hi Saylordesign, yes, you are 100% correct. The pennies all have to be touching in a row for real usage. I was just showing them the way I did for taking a quick picture. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Joerg. It's not in the breakfast contest because it's not specifically breakfast related. And you should make one with blue mold! I'd love to see it! :)
Also from the timeframe I put up this 'ible, there is only five contests available to out it in that aren't relatable at all unfortunately. See pics...
They should TOTALLY do a contest like that! Thanks for stopping by. :)
I'm glad you like it! Have fun with it :D

Or he could mention a source that he got the idea from if it wasn't his original idea. The problem with the internet is very rarely does some think of something original any more. :( I have great ideas, but then go online and they've already been done! Lol. I think it may be the same in this circumstance. He thought of this idea on his own, posted it, and it just happens to already be done. Se la vie. I don't think he copied yours, for example, and then maliciously put it up. :) Many blessings to you both.

I love it and your video! You present it so simply and professionally. Thank you for your ible! I may never have all the tools or skills to make anything you post, but you gained a new follower nonetheless. ;) Blessings!

I don't think it's a problem (smaller challenges). I think it allows projects that wouldn't otherwise be noticed to have a chance too. Not saying mine, because I didn't have a preference if I won--or even was a finalist--or not (it was just fun). But for anyone. I like that some of the Grand Prize winners have only a thousand or less views (in a smaller or larger contest). That means the likes of us little guys can win too! I like that it's not always based off of who can get the most votes (or who can be featured in the emailed newsletter). It makes it fair. And it makes it well rounded.
PS, some of the greatest inventions are things that people can think of themselves. But it takes someone to actually put it out there to make it reality ;)

Someone's gotta ask: are they comfortable or useable (realistically) at all? Nevertheless, they look awesome!

Apparently you're going to win because they put your picture as the face of the Paper craft contest ;) Outstanding work!

Yeah I did, thanks :) I used the website it says on the watermark. I didn't feel like spending money to take the watermark off lol.
No offence taken. I didn't put it there ;) The contest only ruled that it has to be an Instructable that "uses duct tape," so that's what I entered. May your day be richly blessed :)

AMAZING! very nice :D Love it!

Lol. To each their own. I read in the contest that you can enter anything that "uses duct tape" so that's what I did. To be honest, I didn't expect to be a finalist (that was a surprise!)...So I guess people liked it enough. And that's OK. Thinking outside of the box is always something I like to do. :) Hope your day is blessed!
Aww I'm so sorry to hear your day has been rough! I will sincerely pray for you to experience some "sunshine" and peace in your "rainy" day. Thanks for your kindness :)

Hey there. I am not even going to pretend to know as much about photography and diffused lighting as you obviously do. (That's why I took the photography class hahaha.) But here's a link to someone asking about using them convex, maybe it will help? If not, I guess Google is your best bet. When you figure it out, maybe you could come back and share what you learned for the rest of us? Thanks! :) https://www.quora.com/Does-a-convex-lense-focus-diffuse-light
Sorry I couldn't be of more help :(

Nutritional yeast is made from a single-celled organism, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, which is grown on molasses and then harvested, washed, and dried with heat to kill or “deactivate” it. Because it's inactive, it doesn't froth or grow like baking yeast does so it has no leavening ability.Do you think she would be allergic to this type of yeast? If she is, yes you can move forward without it, it will just taste different. :)
