    Always be nice to the yard workers. They don't get paid much and it may ensure you'll get the boards delivered that you picked if you tip the worker helping you.

    Raptor 5: a Fully Iron CNC DIY

    Fine job in everything I saw except it was a poor choice to weld the rack. It will wear faster than any other component and mostly in one major area. If you had secured it wil screws and in measured sections, possibly you could have moved the sections around to get longer life from your purchase. I have built 7 CNC's and I know these things from experience in maintaining them. Also the weight of the the vertical axis could have been counterbalanced to offset the weight for the motor to have less strain. I'd suggest a counterweight through cables, spring like one for an adjustable height monitor or an air cylinder with a pressure transducer for balancing the required pressure but also with a good pressure regulator to maintain the same pressure (air volume will be released when it goes d...see more »Fine job in everything I saw except it was a poor choice to weld the rack.
