With Instructables you can share what you make with the world, and tap into an ever-growing community of creative experts.
This really is a bad idea. If you hit something really solid that doesn't deform when you hit it, the handle is going to break right off and the head will go flying. Given any cross section of the axe, you only have so much area of strong engineering material and the rest is soft candy. Please do not use this as a tool.- Mechanical engineer
No, I read it all. I understand that you're implying that it's a bad idea, but your readers might not catch that. I'm just saying, maybe you should explicitly state do not use this as a tool so Instructables doesn't get sued
Does this company have on staff safety engineers? It is evident that some projects yield results with impending safety and health consequences. For example, "Gummy Bear Axe," which was recently posted, replaces a wood handle from a wood cutting axe with gummy bears suspended in epoxy. You should have a mechanical engineer who can tell how dangerous this is and post a hold on such instructables until the author wires in a note at the top of the page to not replicate the same project or that it should not be used as a functioning tool. I am qualified to do so, but not willing to move out of state, as I am attending grad school in mechanical engineering.
