    42oz Wooden Beer Mug

Will do, thanks for your advice and instructions. I strayed a bit from your plans as I don't have a planer (some day..) and used a table saw with the blade set at 12 degrees. Doing this resulted in 15 strips being used. I tried to force 16 but it just wasn't going to work.I also ended up sanding the whole mug round and then sanding one strip flat after the fact. The hardest part thus far was attaching the handles with dowels. I drilled into the handles then put painters tape sticky side out to mark where to drill on the mug. Still kind of nerve-racking knowing I had one shot at drilling the mug holes. Here are my pair of mugs so far before sealing and finishing. It's been a lot of fun putting these together and will be relieved after the pitch goes on. Next time I'll use oak or something...see more »Will do, thanks for your advice and instructions. The poplar was supposed to be the trial mug but as things kept going, I decided to just go with it.

Have you used the brewer's pitch yet? I've got my mugs ready but I wasn't sure if I should be pouring the pitch in and trying to coat all the edges (by swishing around or via brush) or just sealing the bottom of the inside like you did with the wax.Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'd hate the screw my mugs up at this stage...
