  • GPS Time (UTC) to Local Time Conversion Using Arduino

I know this thread is old, but converting UTC to Local Time is way more complicated than just calculating the GPS or even having UTC. The biggest complication is that Local time is dependant on geoPolitical boundaries. For instance in AUS, the state QLD does not have DST and the State NSW has and the date of the switch to DST is often changed by acts of parliment, not to mention that time zones follow political lines too. Somehow my android phone and my computer just know this and remind me of it. I have found a way of accessing this data by doing a local Time request with an ESP8266 and wifi through something like WUNDERGROUND - but you have to have an account. Even google has this facility, but for that you have to have a paid account (which is worse). Has anyone figured free service ...

I've been using NTC time instead of GPS time, but the problem remains the same.
