You had used 5 Band resistor.Use 4 band resistor.
You might have used incorrect resistor and capacitor values.See the schematic diagram for values of components used.you should use buzzer.Did you opened up digital watch ever.You will find a buzzer if you opened it.The buzzer will be like a round plate.This type of buzzer you should use.
Yes it is ok.Since the IC555 is generating AC signal.The AC signal generated will be a square wave.So the square wave is a digital signal.The digital signal will have amplitude 1's and 0's.It is to be taken as,1 is equal to 5V and 0 is equal to Ground, that is 0V.If you want to extend the effect of mosquito repeller till some coverage distance.You can increase the output voltage of IC555.It can be done by as followsIC 555 has maximum supply voltage till 15V.You can use 12V power supply instead of 5V supply.By doing this,will increase the output voltage of IC 555.
You can't hear that sound of mosquito repeller because the sound is in ultrasonic range.But you can test the output.To test it disconnect the buzzer,take a multimeter.Turn it in AC voltage measurement.Keep the probes of multimeter at the output that is,the two point terminals where the buzzer is connected.If it shows the reading of AC voltage,your circuit is working.You can also test it in another way.Take a frequency meter.Connect the probes of frequency meter in the output of circuit.If the frequency is above than 20Khz.Your mosquito repeller will work.It will take some days to show its effect on mosquito.You can notice the difference in day by day.
This jumper wire connects 8th and 4th pin of IC 555
Yes you can use 74HC14 IC.The HC is not important.Only the IC number is important

Yes you should change the transformer to 16-0-16.So that you can maintain stable +12V and -12V.You need to add heat sink to 7812 and 7912 because the output voltage of bridge is going to be 32V if you use 16Volt transformer.The voltage regulator is going to be heated up.So to dissipate heat and to protect voltage regulator,you need to add heat sink

Here is the best example for your question about ripple.Consider Fm transmitter circuit using IC NE555.The fm transmitter is powered by battery to eliminate noise.Because battery source has no ripples.Then if you power the same fm transmitter with transformer power source using voltage regulators there will be so much of noise added.This is because the voltage regulators has small ripple voltage that causes noise in FM transmitters
If you directly connect the full wave rectifier to variable voltage regulator there may be some small ripple voltage exist at the output of LM317.At lm7815 there may be some small ripple.This ripple voltage is eliminate if you connect another voltage regulator that is LM317T.So you get two stage filtering of ripple voltage.So that your output voltage is pure straight line DC with no ripples.
Is this power supply withstand for lighter loads. Iam asking this question because SMPS will have accurate voltages but if you check the current of 3.3V,5V,12V.It will be around 5AMPS. Which is very high current.If you connect any LED to 5V the LED will be burst because of High current.If you also connect 5V DC motor,the copper winding in DC motor will have less resistance.This copper winding cannot withstand resistance for 5AMPS.For 5 AMPS current the copper winding will act like a Pure wire.So if you connect DC motor your SMPS will burst.I had already tried it and find out the reason for burst of SMPS which is as mentioned above.So you should connect resistor to suppress the current from 5 AMPS to 2 AMPS.So usage of 2 AMPS current is safe.

Can i use glossy paper instead of OHP sheet?
you cannot connect 12 v.d.c.Because without connecting the cooling fan if you check the voltage using multimeter it will be exactly 12 v.d.c.After connecting the cooling fan if you check the voltage there will be some drop in voltage and current.So it can't be 12 v.d.c after connecting the cooling fan.If you connect any other project along with cooling fan parallel the cooling fan speed will drop.If the cooling fan speed drops the fume extractor will not effectively absorb the fume.
