Hi thanks, for the input. So far it didn't break with me standing on it. The 4 screws can hold multiple persons if you only look on the shear strength of the steel. The holding capability of the wood isn't even taken in account here.

Hi yeah thanks! ofcourse the board could be better, thanks for the tips!
Thanks! ok cool! Sounds like a solid base for a paddle board. We don't have that everywhere. I had to go to a specific EPS foam manufacturer if i wanted to organize something like that.
View Instructable »Hi jayed! thanks for the comment! To answer your questions:yeah as i said in the instructable. the goal for the project was using simple materials you can easily organize. And buying the a adequate amount of epoxy and glassfiber would make the project as expensive as a board you can buy. At least here in NL. So the design differentiates on using simpler materials and methods. Usign carbon fibre instead of glassfiber would yield more stiffness but that matererial is even more exotic and expensive than epoxy/glassfiberIn my case adding shape wouldn't add any function because the board ony has to float. Adding shape to the foam would only deduct material and give less 'floating' capacity. The swallow tail has no function.Don't get me wrong, I think my design and project goal were just diffe...

Your welcome! As david is saying, an epoxy resin work great with EPS foam but polyester resin will eat it away.
Thanks david, the board could certainly be better if it was longer and wider.
Oh yeah that would certainly be better. thanks!

- Sebastiaan Mollema commented on Sebastiaan Mollema's instructable Shop Air Filter Fume Extractor Combo5 months ago
Hi thanks! well the filter cost me 10 euro's and i can make two sheets out of that for this build. I made a few of these for a customer factory, and they change the filters every 2 two weeks so about a good 80 hours of 'on' time.

Hi james thanks! those additions could be very useful thank you fro sharing! yeah the filter material is quite cheap, ofcourse filter could give more flow and more filter capacity but both options will do the job.

Thanks for the heads-up! The only animal which gets underneath is our own cat. Luckely there are no other real critters here. But It's a good point, I'll add it to the article. Don't want anyone having to deal with that.
Thanks! I will pass it on!
thank you Muthaf, the roof slope could be steeper. Then there would be less chance of wind and water blowing underneath.
View Instructable »Hi yeah, it could be, It can handle some weight, maybe 50 kg per m^2. But the snowfall the last winters were not that heavy, maybe 10 cm. If i lived more land inwards it would be a different story.
