As somebody has already mentioned, a lot of insects are attracted to bright light. There are two ways of looking at it. Your mosquito zapper would also work fine with houseflies, and that's good. Con is, it will zap most other insects as well, and that's saddening. Mosquitoes that feed on human blood (yes, not all mosquitoes feed on human blood) are programmed to trace presence of CO2. So the yeast and baking soda trick would be better I think.
