I've been designing throbbers into products since the early 90s, and wanted an easy breadboard one that'll drive a white LED from 2V up. Having scored reels of 10F206 and LED driver LM27952 from ebay a while ago, time to make some PCBs. Worked first time - and thanks to pburgess for the nicely written code. I've got extra pins spare, to time to fill the rest of the ROM with a candle flicker table and add some simple LED flash options, to make this a general purpose programmable status LED. Yay!
