I actually have this game, among others (Arkham Horror with all the expansions, Mansions of Madness with all the expansions, Fortune and Glory with all the available expansions, and Eldritch Horror and all of its expansions on my To Get list). I was just thinking this past week that I should build some storage boxes for them all. Thank you for this! When I get some of my other projects done, this is definitely on my To Do list!

LMBO, garrettg7! I'm still getting the things that MUST be done to my new home completed before I start on this kind of projects. Fortunately, that list is getting smaller and smaller, but I'm now on the really big stuff, like pouring concrete. But I'm getting there. Aren't I awesome?? LOL! :-)
Dang. I want to do this to my boring, metal spiral. But I'm afraid this is a long way down my To Do list. Gorgeous work!

These are wonderful! I see several people have already mentioned having access to the inside to clean it. Another thing to consider is that the perch is not needed. It looks nice, and seems logical, but from what I've read, you don't want one. The reason being that it gives a predatory bird a place to conveniently perch while they raid the nest. Still, I think I'll make some of these. My fiance has been on me to make some bird houses. These are beautiful!

I've tried that. So many people swear by it, but my success has been very limited. Usually, they just move the hive entrance outside the ring of DE. On one occasion, with a larger hive, half moved to one side, half moved to the other, and that left me with two where there had been one. Thanks, though. I know some people have very good success with it, but it's never been effective for me, sad to say.
I want to build one of these so badly! A nice octagon one to go with my little octagon house. Beautifully done!
That was a wonderful reply, Taz-Hood, no need for apologies. Funny, how I will pray (goddess - different path, with some similar ideology) over an animal I have killed for food, but just never thought about ants in that way. After all, they are living creatures, too. My infestations are fire ants. Nasty creatures, invasive so they have no natural predators here in my area (Shreveport, LA, USA), and their stings leave nasty marks on me that can last weeks or months. They love my raised garden beds, so yes, I need to rid myself of them, but they don't like sugar. I've been experimenting with other options - peppermint essential oil, dish washing liquid, and water. It works, but peppermint essential oil is a bit expensive for an acre of lawn and all my gardening. I just ordered orange oil,...

If it does, I'll make my own Instructable on it. Blessings to you, and thank you for your comment <3
Deeds88, I've tried so many things to naturally get rid of my fire ant problems that I'm about to scream. The problem is, fire ants ignore anything sweet. But I recently found something else I'm going to try using orange oil. I need something, because they love my raised gardens. I don't mind using poisons in the lawn, but NOT in my gardens! If it works, I'll put up my own Instructable, I promise!

My one concern would be that the paneling could peel. Cheap paneling is nothing more than a paper print glued to a thin plywood surface. Wetting it with the starch could cause it to bubble and peel. I'd check a small, unobservable area - or better yet, on a scrap piece if you have it - before starting on the walls.

I wonder - if rather than using the broken bits all over, what if you only arranged them around the edges and placed pieces cut to the full length in the center where the resin wouldn't be showing anyway. That should cut down on the amount of resin you need?

I couldn't say for certain, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Ants are pretty easy to please, unfortunately. Little buggers get into everything!

OMG, that is simply savage! I want one, oh yeah!
I'm with you, 97bravo20. Heavens above! When I was a kid, you could get chemistry sets and wood burning kits. Now everything has rounded corners and packed on foam. And yes, I remember the John Phillips thing, though I couldn't have told you his name before you mentioned it. BTW, you can buy uranium on Amazon. Let the fun begin! :-D
I remember my parents (mostly my mother) doing this once when I was quite young and we had cattle. I remember them complaining that it tasted of onions. They were told it was because the cattle were eating the wild onions in the fields. Maybe one day, I'll have the opportunity to do it myself :)

groovymama the groovywriter. :) I really enjoyed reading your instructable. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at yourself, right? Yeah, I grew up with ducks an chickens and so forth. Messy little buggers. But once they start laying, you'll have more than you can handle. Have fun with those little chickies!
Oh, my! Definitely time for a trip to Goodwill. This is better than those dang expensive ones you can buy pre-made. Thank you!

I have several of these saved now and am always surprised that there are no safety guards on anything. This just makes me scratch my head. I have two tables now ready for making my own work tables, which I plan to do as soon as the weather permits, but I'd LIKE to have some kind of guards in place before I start using them. I'm a bit paranoid that way!
