The Ring of Fire: a Cheap Steel Wool Pyrotechnic Display
Wood is an organic matter, so yes, it will burn in a microwave. I definitely wouldn't chance it.
I wonder - if rather than using the broken bits all over, what if you only arranged them around the edges and placed pieces cut to the full length in the center where the resin wouldn't be showing anyway. That should cut down on the amount of resin you need?

How many tiny drill bits have I broken using them to make lead holes for screws/nails? No more! Thank you!
I couldn't say for certain, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Ants are pretty easy to please, unfortunately. Little buggers get into everything!
My fiance's favorite thing as a kid was orange brioche. I may have to make him one!
Good advise. Thank you, FlorinJ :)
Number 187 on my I NEED TO DO THIS list. Dang. I need to be two people!
Definitely saving this one in my collections. I desperately need these!
I use another nail. I expect the pin punch is safer, but if I'm pounding in nails anyway...
Oh, this is gorgeous! There's really no place for something like this in my little round house, but if my situation changes, I want to build this! Beautiful work.
Great repurposing idea! How many of us throw out perfectly usable furniture because we can't see past what it is NOW? Good job, TiborR :)
We need more people spreading kindness. There are too many already shoveling their hate. Thank you, asergeeva!
OMG, that is simply savage! I want one, oh yeah!
I'm with you, 97bravo20. Heavens above! When I was a kid, you could get chemistry sets and wood burning kits. Now everything has rounded corners and packed on foam. And yes, I remember the John Phillips thing, though I couldn't have told you his name before you mentioned it. BTW, you can buy uranium on Amazon. Let the fun begin! :-D
I remember my parents (mostly my mother) doing this once when I was quite young and we had cattle. I remember them complaining that it tasted of onions. They were told it was because the cattle were eating the wild onions in the fields. Maybe one day, I'll have the opportunity to do it myself :)
Horrible Halloween CoffinView Instructable »
groovymama the groovywriter. :) I really enjoyed reading your instructable. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at yourself, right? Yeah, I grew up with ducks an chickens and so forth. Messy little buggers. But once they start laying, you'll have more than you can handle. Have fun with those little chickies!
Oh, my! Definitely time for a trip to Goodwill. This is better than those dang expensive ones you can buy pre-made. Thank you!
I have a bunch of leather upstairs that I got at a discount from Tandy a couple of years ago. I REALLY need to make one of these! Thank you for the wonderful Instructable!

I have several of these saved now and am always surprised that there are no safety guards on anything. This just makes me scratch my head. I have two tables now ready for making my own work tables, which I plan to do as soon as the weather permits, but I'd LIKE to have some kind of guards in place before I start using them. I'm a bit paranoid that way!
How to hide your files inside a picture
Wow, people are so hateful. I gave up reading the comments. One wonders what people's parents were doing rather than teaching their nasty little offspring something called MANNERS! God forbid someone should require you to think. But then, thinking seems to be highly discouraged these days....
I know. Pitiful isn't it, how awful people have become? I thought the "hints" pretty much spelled it out, anyway!

OMG! Ramp pesto! Living in Louisiana as I do now, I have to have ramps shipped to me from the more northerly climes. My fiance doesn't like them like I do, so now I only order five or six pounds where I used to order ten. I freeze mine. Just clean them, bag them, and freeze. I can enjoy them year round. Love the pesto idea, though. I'll definitely be trying that!
PVC Socket Wrench
This is a beautiful planter, and I love the fact that you're using simple tools. So many of these instructables are using table saws and drill presses and band saws and belt sanders and, and, and!!! I don't own any of those things, just some simple electric tools. I would love to see more like this. Thank you!
I'll be watching!
You're both right, poor wording. Sorry about that. Cold but not hard freeze areas, yes. It works perfectly here in my area where we get short spans of freezing weather, mostly at night. It wouldn't be so good in, say, West Virginia where I used to live, when it stays below freezing for weeks or months at a time. Silly me. Gotten used to the south :)
In cold winter areas, slice the noodle lengthwise and put it around any exposed water pipes. Instant insulation!
