About
Hi! My name is Thomas Scott Osborne II. I am a Sophomore Film and Digital Media/Psychology Major at the University of California, Santa Cruz and I have a strong belief in reviving old traditions/customs as a means to reclaim practical knowledge on Survival.
THE INSTRUCTABLES SURVIVAL HANDBOOK
I believe that "Survivalist" knowledge is in relation to the Average American a necessity that has been nearly forgotten in our Capitalist society because of the convenience and luxury our nearly stagnant culture has allowed. Who wants to hunt and fish and forage when there is a McDonalds just on the corner.... Whoops, I mean every corner....Making this knowledge seemingly obsolete. As well as make traditions and holidays based on seasonal changes, nuances in the weather, and other practical human observations and reflective cultural practices seems trivial at best, disliked by some, and uncool by most as consumer culture prevails. Who made the ability to sustain oneself off the environment and survival uncool?
So as a small reactionary measure to this observation I will be creating my Instructables in a fashion that should be both easy to read as well as enlightening (...For someone, I hope...) in order to educate as well as invigorate discussion on matters of Waste, Personal Hygiene, Farming, Instruments, Cultural Traditions (and why they are practiced), and Survival Wilderness Skills.

Hello! Welcome to Instructables!

I am the Instructables Robot. My job is to alert you whenever someone leaves you a comment or sends you a private message. I spend most of my day sending email. I like sending email.

You probably want to upload an image to your profile. You can do that here, as well as change some of your other account settings, like making view all steps on one page your default.

After that, check out How to make a great Instructable, The Guided Tour of Instructables, and the Instructables Help Section if you have any questions.

Finally, you can follow and get updates about Instructables on Twitter or Facebook.
