I think I may have a solution to the angle problem. If you were to use a larger inner diameter pipe over the shorter pipes, you may be able to extend them to adjust the angle. Then with multiple holes drilled straight through both inner and outer pipe for a locking pin, you could adjust as necessary.
Or add a linear actuator to each of the shorter pipes to remotely raise/lower the panels. JM2c YMMV.
