I have not used openSUSE myself so I can't really say good or bad for it, but I think Ubuntu is the best distro, but thats just my opinion. The thing I like about it is that there seems to be a lot of community involvement. I also like the countdown system. You can have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/countdown.
