Your whole place is so tastefully done, Andu. Being both a skilled handyman AND have an eye for design is a rare combination indeed. My cats would definitely approve. I'm currently working on wall hanging cat platforms that are turning out pretty cool and the cats love them. Should have an instructable put together in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned...
Thanks for the kudos! Finally got it all pulled together with this 3rd generation try. Whew!
Adorable & Simply Terrific! I gotta make me some of these. THANKS
Adorable way to celebrate the sun! You got my vote.
Ah Ha! Perfect
Oh Yeah...this looks great! Congrats on the solar water heater addition. We have a 26 ft diameter dome greenhouse with a 1,500 gallon watertank/fish pond inside that works on the passive solar principals you mentioned. Here is something to consider based on our experience: Convert the greenhouse idea into a sauna :) Temps 95 and over will generally not promote plant growth. Pavers on the ground will enhance the heat gathering capability as well as slowly release the heat at night to help regulate huge temp swings. Same principle as Trombe walls. Convert your plant shelf idea to sauna benches. Best Wishes & Keep on Creating! Jill
Hi! Thanks for your question. Since I would probably never dry meat in this setup, strict temp monitoring was not an issue for me. We live in a southwestern climate and I dry according to the forecast. Because the drying premise is open air, the temp inside will vary according to the sun and wind. I can tell you during sunny, hot & dry weather, using my mandolin slicer, thin slices will dry in a day, medium...2 days and thick...3 days. That's plenty fast enough to avoid spoilage :)
