I too use Inkscape for some things, but the drawings will not import into the lasers RDworks program unless they are in the correct format. This being so, it is a long and tedious job to change the drawings to a DXF format and the DXF format that Inkscape exports to is not a standard one.
Would you please supply this drawings as a DXF.I have a lot of difficulty changing the SVGZs to DXFs.Thank you
You don't need to turn a bit of timber to make the grinding support.Just drill a 5/8" hole through a piece of timber and drop a bolt through the plate and into the timber
Congratulations on the layout and the whole thing.Your instructable makes everything pelucidly clear
So where are the DXFs for making one of these?
It would also be necessary to use a multimetre to check that he earth side is connected to the earth side and that the positive is connected to the positive side. You cannot just rely on the colours of the cable to make the joint correctly polarised.
Make Your Own ESC
No it won't
Nope, you missed out that both the timber and the MDF are somewhat carcinogenic and so proper breathing equipment should also be worn at all times.I have seen so many people who have ignored this simple precaution and now they are dead.

Would you mind modifying your instructable to include a foolproof way of getting the model to stick to the bed. I have been trying painters tape and I have also tried glass and treated both surfaces with various finishes but nothing seems to work reliably.

You might like to try laser cutting the silicone sheets. You will get splendid accuracy and much faster too.

Thanks for this circuit. I am currently building it but I just need to get a 3 watt 2k2 . The rest is done. I have decided that I will use some heat transfer cement from a computer CPU to transfer the heat to a few 20c coins that will be siliconed in place.
I didn't have enough space to fit in 20c coins, I had to use 5c coins. I feel so cheap.PS I had to order in the 3 watt resistor from http://au.rs-online.com/web/p/through-hole-fixed-resistors/2142803/
My congratulations go to you for the way you cooked the eggs. So many people heat the pan up to a highish temperature and then crack the eggs into the hot fat/oil/butter. This results in a frizzled mess that tastes atrocious and just makes an inedible brown slab of the eggs.I will try your idea of the small amount of water to cook off the yolk's tops.
I think you may have meant to write 'tung oil' not 'tongue oil'.
No, he learned that you can put a 12v bulb into a 120v socket, but that it is a bad idea to do so if the longevity of the 12v bulb is important to him.
In step 5 you say that it is important not to hammer the wire all the way in, but you do not say why this is so. Surely the wire would be more secure if it all the way into the cut void. Thanks for the idea of using a laser, I had previously only used a CNC. I will try out lasers now.

The timber you are using seems to be purple heart, not teak
Quote: With a 0.28" needle the kerf is also very small.Really, almost a 1/3" kerf. :)
Congratulations on your design and the completed job. and the way in which it accomplishes your design parameters and requirements.I am not going to make one as I have no real interest in star gazing. I do however appreciate good design and workmanship.Of especial note is the worm gear. This deserves praise all on its own.
Good 'ible. In step (9) Why did you not use the edge of the level to run the saw against?
You forgot step 13.5 where you put the marbles into the puzzle just before nailing the polycarbonate into place. :)Good job on everything else though. I will make a few for presents.
No, it will only work with things that fit into the jig. However, there is no reason why you could not scale the whole thing up and use timber with a measurement of 500 x 500. This would allow you to find the centre of items up to a metre in diameter

It would be good if you could tell us a little about the Arduino board that you used and also what the program for it is. Without that information we would all need to redinvent the wheel.
Nice 'ibble; I will make one for myself. You could probably save yourself a fair amount of time just cutting right through the flooring. The parts you are cutting aren't going to go anywhere and it is a real nuisance to have to cut out the small tabs or (in your case), Dremel out the remains. Set the CNC to cut 0.34" so that it JUST cuts into the sacrificial board.
Possibly drill a small hole beneath where the knot is and countersink the knot into the hole.
Seeing as you finish up with a square drive end on the main shaft, did you not thing to use square shafting rather than round and then use square centre bearings.
I just bought one in Australia. When I tried to bring a few into the country s few years ago, customs took them from me.
