Thanks, I haven't done much in years, I am setting up to make my own Art inks and didn't know they had changed the coating.
I didn't have that result back in the 1960s and 70s, I guess they have changed the coating. Thanks.
I have found some from old stock being tossed out, in local businesses, that used up there old stock, I guess I am lucky and I will have to buy the expensive ones when the few I have are gone.
When I was a kid and a young teenager, I made the clear ones into beakers by removing the ring and capping them with glass or a stopper for distillation experiments in Chemistry. I found they worked just as well as the expensive ones when I got a job. A buddy used other shapes to make his on vacuum tubes but I not sure how he did that his father was a physictis
For the Resistor just remember "Better be right or your great big venture goes west" Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet (Purple), Gray and White are the bandings of common resistors If you remember this you wont have to look them up all the time.

The reason electrons flow negative to positive is Ben Franklin got the flow backwards, as his description had gotten into general use when the error was found no one bothered trying to change the labels as it would have lead to a lot more confusion.If you still have hum from the 6.3 filament wires you can use a wire shield over them and ground it or use a ferrite bead to cut down on the radiation.
I like the with a neighbor, the rest are risky, any place you can think of will be depending on the amount of time, and risk places burglars will check, of course the tree might be the safest as it depending on the number of trees a time problem.
