    In addition, if you want to get CRAZY! you can find your model line of Laptop, and find the highest version they made in the series. for instance i got a second hand Lenovo laptop from 2010, it had a celeron dual core...>ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! even for daily driving. so i looked up the Motherboard(the cpu is soldered to the board, not replaceable) and found the highest in this series was a quad core pentium, so i verified that the board was the same part number, dropped $45 on the working board and another 4gb ram an just swapped the motherboard with better processor ad added 4gb ram to make 8gb! so now my laptop is a quad core 8gb system for $45. BOOM! Works Great now!     This is even better with Desktop as you can upgrade more components! Processor, ram and Graphics! an SSD is KEY to upgrading an OLD Pc. as always your mileage may vary. but as someone who takes old PCs and Flips them, Ram and a GPU are the easiest and most effective upgrades.I have saved many a Computer from the Junk pile by re purposing them or cleaning and upgrading! its not nearly as hard as it sounds!
