hey ..... i found your blinking led really amazing !!!!!! And i'm wondering ... what will happend if you put two of them together in a black box ..... Do they try to "communicate" ? it could be really really impressive, no ? And, going further ...if you put lot of them in a black box ? Or in a buried environment ! regards ben
Hi Ben, my new instructable is online. Its about synchronizing fireflies. Or putting reprogrammable LEDs in a black box. Take a look, if you like. Regards, Alex
Hi al-yazdi, thanks. And, yes, it would be fun to watch them as they are interacting. Maybe I try that in my next project. How about you? Is the simulation already running? ;-) Kind regards, Alex
MfG Ben
hey, you speak german! Sorry, I can't dutch (dankjewel).
Long time ago I did it in Java. Was like a grid where every item could interfere with its neighbours. Worked pretty well. There are some software packages out there that model these type of things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellular_automata
Neither do I ... I'm French, just there for an internship ... :P Had a look at your cellular automaton, but I was more thinking on an analog solution, not a digital one ... with nothing like grid, or "direct neighborhood" ... I'll keep you informed ... Java seems to be a good starting point because of it's easy way to draw on Canvas ... Anyway, thanks for the link :) Mfg Ben
Hi Alex i was looking at your Programmable LED and my heart just jumped a beat. I am very very new to electronics and i hope you can help me . This is my problem. I bought a breadboard and i am trying to figure out how to use it. I got a bunch of ebooks on basic electronics and stuff but none show how to use a breadboard I need some basic info on how to use it If you don't mind and have some time i will get a bunch of pics together and some question attached if that is ok with you ? Just send me a note here and i will get the ball rolling Thanks Even if you don't have the time please just let me know doormanwade
Hi doormanwade, sure you can send me questions. As long as you give me some time to reply. ;) Regards, Alex

Comment: The socket is for reprogramming them. The is not enough room for an ISP header.
