About:I've been writing software since I was in the 6th grade, and working with mostly-digital electronics since High School. These days my career consists of software development and architecture that is focused on Operating Systems Internals, Application Internals, Reverse Engineering, and other hack-like skills. For fun I make new things, such as those seen on Instructables.com, using a lifetime of skills in software development and electronics - as well as new skills I've developed via High-Power Rocketry. I also love the study of the Scriptures, ancient languages, and a whole host of other odd things including boating, fishing, and just about anything that involves being with my wife and children! I work fulltime as a professional software engineer, and I take non-competing contract jobs on the side, when possible, to fund the projects you see documented on Instructables.com. I've been asked before to review certain products in articles I write, in exchange for the product, etc.. While I'm willing to do this, I will be brutally honest about the good and the bad things I find with any product. I am NOT a salesman! I am an engineer - I make things, I fix things (usually long before the manufacturer even understands the problem), and I hack things to make them better! :) Above all I believe the motto that "The Glory of God is Intelligence", and I find myself happy whenever I am gaining knowledge and experience, learning new things, or becoming better than I was before. For that reason I am grateful to the greatest Maker of all, who gave us life that is both challenging and immensely interesting.
