I've seen a few suggestions online about using hiking poles and two anchored ropes to create a second point to hang from. I don't have or use them when kayaking and a long enough branch isn't always available. What a brilliantly novel solution you've found! I both favorited and voted, good luck and thanks for sharing!

I've always wanted to try this but was too afraid it was beyond my skill set. You made it look easy enough for me to feel confident in giving it a shot! I've got an older, large citrus tree in my back yard left over from when my yard was a part of a grove. Can I just do a single branch? If so, how would the weight of the graft hold up to fruiting on a horizontal plane? Would it be better to find a more vertical branch?

I like to pull it out and show it to my wife and daughters and say "This is why hair should never go down the drain!" After they gag a little they remember for about two weeks. The very next time, I showed my wife how to disassemble the pop up and made her clean it! Now I've just got to get my girls to learn and I can enjoy beverages sans gunky hands. Thanks for sharing!
