This is likely do to voltage drop..and poor soldering of the strips when they are put on the spools. If you unroll the tape from the spool you will notice several places were segments of tape are joined together to get whatever length you are buying, I always re-solder these joints.

Thomas I'm not sure I know of an easy to identify which is which. Maybe just include the warning and why.
They have been made with different materials very very very old platters might bend..but those are well over 25yr old models AT BEST..they bend ever so slightly and will shatter.
BE AWARE. If you press hard, the platter will break/shatter into hundreds possibly thousands of pieces. This could easily take out an eyeball or two.

Yes I want audio setup details too...I it is not even close to straight forward or easy to get audio because of wind noise. you usually have to use a very very good 'dead cat' muff , you put over the mic.
