I have made one with a combustion chamber about this size and have had the end cap blown off and threads in the male and female part destroyed. I was only using spray deodorant. I put my bolts on opposite sides and sharpened them to a point so it would cosistantly spark in the middle of the chamber and also cut myself some leather "washers" for my bolts that went through to help seal them on the curved surface Hopefully you have better luck with yours staying together.
I believe he uses a tiger torch running on propane. I would guess you can use any metal container as long as you purge out the air with an inert gas and don't melt the container. But maybe AvE has more insight to help you.
