I believe you may have the proportions represented incorrectly. The balanced equation for the reaction is:4(CH3C00H) + 2(H2O2) + Cu2 = 2(Cu(CH3COO)2 + 4(H2O)This means that we consume twice as much acetic acid as we do peroxide. You have written it the other way around in your text.I have not (yet) tried this method myself, but if you have written it backwards that could explain why so many people did not have much success with the approach.
