Hi Roger. I'm just curious how the *code book* is going to prevent this?? Almost all countries have some sort of electrical code. The NEC here in the US, is pretty robust, as well. However, some people are going to do stupid things! These people live in the UK as much as they live in the US.In some states in the US, people are aloud to work on their own electrical, however, an inspection by a qualified, municipality appointed inspector is required. The inspector ensures the work meets code requirements. I'm sure this is not new to you, and I don't know the UK's position on this. But, if anyone does the work on their own and doesn't have this work inspected, well, there you have it... Dead child...Back to my question, how does the UK seem to overcome this issue?I truly am curious..Thanks,Chip
