Distilled water is OK for chemistry, but drinking it can be OK as well. Most food, especially natural food contains all the minerals anyone needs and then some you may not need. Dirt (soil included), on the other hand not only contains minerals but can also contain micro-organisms which help establish immunity. We all eat some dirt. It is unavoidable.
I prefer reverse osmosis purified water. I have been drinking RO water with less than one ppm dissoved solids for decades with no apparent ill effects. Commercial distilled water often does contain small amouns of undesirable minerals like arsenic.
