Great instructable! What are the dimensions of the sword? Handle length, blade length and width.
wonderful idea! i had some round zenith speakers back in the 70's. i got them at the flea market for a couple of $. they were amazingly great speakers. all the bass flowed out the bottom as they stood upright on three legs.
the staff at instructables needs to hire a safety manager to (censor ) weed out dangerous posts. is the staff all children? when reading the description this device is further used in a "wet" location and a GFCI type of device can only operate the device.
45 years ago I noticed the YKK on first one jacket ,then my jeans-shorts-windbreakers-dress pants and thought what does the YKK stand for? "Yonkers Kneading and Knotting"club? Then I asked Mom the above board home seamstress and she said "YouKnotKnow" Tonight at age 61 I looked it up on the Web and it will never worry me while I'm on the Throne again!
Diy i just read your comment and remembering something to the solar field i googled "solar coffee maker". i was surprised with the offerings. i built and used a parabolic cooker designed after the "umbroiler" back in the '70's. 2 cups of water or soup took 30-40 minutes to reach a boil!
I build custom motorcycle lighting and can explain a simpler kinder way to incorporate running, brake and turn indicators. for running /brake light feature run the first circuit on the positive leg with a 120 ohm resistor and a 1n914 diode to lights. for brake lighting run another positive leg circuit through the brake lever actuated with a micro switch and then through a 60 ohm resistor and 1n914 diode to the same positive lead that was attached to leds . the ;eds will be a lower brightness until the brake lever is depressed and this is where the circuit with the 60 ohm resistor over-rides the first circuit and the diodes keep the circuits apart allowing a higher brightness. turn signals a little more advanced and if queried will relay this info too!
Which grade of copper did you use?
I've checked this a couple of times and it keeps going to the wallet instructions?
the light has a three function switch, 1st click on main light with 18 leds , 2nd click the mains light go out and the secondary 3 ledsw come on , 3rd click off. after this mod does it flicker in main then secondaries or main and secondaries at the same time?
whoops ! i went back and counted the leds on the main on thus page and i see it has 24 on the main circuit. i've got one that is 10+ years old that has the 18 in the main circuit.
I love this site and wish to ask Instructables to retract this creation . Should the EPA get "wind " of this further ramifications could occur. To the author of this ible blue stove pipe might be an alternative. Zinc fumes are highly toxic!
I will Positively Construct a list to buy from Home Depot or Lowes' as they also ship and faster than the competition.
I got my 22 year old nephew to view this and it blew him away! I think you need an internet patent lawyer,BIG TIME! Getting ahead of the others attempting to do what you/them have accomplished will be a heady race. I'll never attempt this but think it is wonderful and I'd like to have some creature dancing on my motorcycle helmet!
I love it! And I'm already thinking magnetic reed switches!
i thought i was the only one going nuts trying to locate the chip.i did find a lm239 from texas instruments but it is an op amp and was curious if there wasn't a typo. thank you for correcting this.
I use Doral Electronics on E-Bay for this application. Contact them and let them know all the parameters and they will hook you up.
cut tacks is the name of the shoemakers nails. they can be found on E-bay,Amason and in France. The shipping from France would get your sandals back up to Birkenstocks' price range!
I found this as I was searching to see if someone had sense enough to have the soldering iron positioned where the heat goes uphill instead of downhill. All the uphill holders prematurely burn out the heating element and the handle gets hot. I'm glad you made this and that I found it before I posted the one I made!
How is the voice control operated?
Lived in florida all my life ,way over a decade, and if the Mosquito Patrol Division thought of a way like this they would tell everyone to do so. Due to the Zika outbreak I have actually witnessed them spraying this neighborhood once a week instead of monthly! Hey! if it works I'll send pictures but everything I've tried posted here and on YT has only killed flies.
Thanks for this vid Deba 168 . Simple real projects that work can be made for 1/10 of the cost and will be with you forever.
In part 7 1:40 when you said "you'll be goin' back to home depot" I laughed so much as I have been there done that. for everyone ; this is a fantastic real world video!! But bar none Robert has laid this out well and while it is a tough project for almost anyone as those cells crack on you just at looking at them!! A Vote for this man!
I like this and have voted for it. The main items i like is in which you have saved the landfill most of the spent light bulb, have brains enough to think this idea up and recycle in a positive way. Everybody wins!
I done a similar rigging as i called it to a stereo record player in 1968. Took the needle cartridge off the tone arm and the 3 wires going to this was right, neutral and left. Soldered on two 1/4" jacks and had a mic and guitar amp. Had to only turn on the platter and let it spin while i played and sang! All of ya'll have to remember stereo sound was for the rich back then. A reverberated speaker in the rear seat separation was an option!
I went back and through one together just to check loss value. On this I used 10 turns .35 enameled wire on each separate leg on torrid, a bc338,1k and a 1.2vdc 200ma old garden light battery. Hogs the current It has emitted light with this rectangular white ultra bright led for 30 mins so far and consumed 50 ma.Update: I dropped a 10n (103) capacitor in before the 1k resistor and the Voltage drain hit the brakes. It has consumed 6ma in 30 minutes compared to the 50ma in the first 30 minutes.
Torrid coils wreak havoc on transistors."Big Clive" states to use a ferrite Vanilla bead coil as others will loose efficiency! This might have led to the non-working circuits. Also instruction on using a Heat Sink Tool when soldering any L.E.D. saving damage to the led/transistor. I myself have fried many of full legged leds from not protecting it with some type of heat sink device . Mine in pictures below.
I've been an A.S.E. mechanic in my 47th year of service and anyone considering this mod should read the "Service Manual"(not the owners manual) for the vehicle first as since the 1970's vehicles have blended a-c to the windshield defrost cycle to dry up the moisture on the inside. "My a-c runs in the winter time " is a fact -not a problem. Then opposite occurs in summer for adequate engine cooling. The E.C.M. blends hot water into the heater core while the a-c is operating.
I read the comments and they reach back some 7 years and i wondered if you still had the bike and have any upgrades been made?
My Lawyer showed me how to lose 102 lbs. in a 5 year period.
I built 2 of these for left -right and up - down 27 years ago and operate to this date. I used windshield wiper motors for actuators.
filmnuts i agree with you as i laughed about your post! I used to attempt this in september on a saturday with the guys over for the football game on t.v. a lot of Einsteins after 4 brews and "i just didn't know what i was doing" say them all without any panels of their own.
Do to the nice policy for comments I can only say more background and homework will produce impressive instructables. Specialty screwdrivers,micro-switch, optical z drive tray are the missing names to help you mature in future publications.Their descriptions are on the internet.
everyone always states"use a transmitter compatible with this". so i will ask you which transmitter did you use that is compatible with the Hubsan H107-A34 receiver you used.
i built this from several of the wireless light ibles. i used a BC547 25 turns for the led half and 12 turns next turn center tap and continued on with 12 more totaling 25 turns for the power half out of 28 gauge wire, AA battery and without a resistor. works from 2" above brighter close to nil. in pictures the led is lit through a pot pie pan.
i made this today with a bc547 it works the same. now i'll place each half in an enclosure an place the unit along side my many other projects in my hallway display case.
At age 10 in 65 I remember riding my bike back and forth to the 7-11 checking tubes at their tube tester machine for dad as he was repairing our family (1) TV. Thank you for your project as it provides History and Entertainment in one package!
I've used many a pool noodles to seal between topper and truck.
I commend the young fellow . I will not be around 40 years from now to see how this workbench will grow. Mine started out like this one and is now a separate 2 car garage with all the amenities of home!
I've used Tayda Electronics from Taiwan with a 10-14 day ship to the U.S. for over 5 years now. Even with the shipping charges and they combine those you could start a repair shop with all the extras you could tally up to those Ama@#$% over glorified prices. Where do you think they get their electronics from?
