:-) Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it! Of course you can use a vise. It's more a matter of accessibility, preference and enjoyment. :-) If you do not have a vise, you can use different clamps or fasten the material/work piece directly to the worktable with a screw also. But sometimes a thing like this may be useful to some. :-) Personally I find this to be faster than a vise if I have to plane many pieces. But you are correct - if you have a vise - you can use a vise of course!
