Thanks for this idea. I painted card stock with "Danish oil", and then held the card stock in front of a space heater to accelerate the polymerization. When applied to card stock and held in front of a space heater, Danish oil dries in 30-60 seconds. I then left the pieces out overnight to futher cure before handling them. I'm very pleased with the result.
Photos of the completed lamp. It's brighter than it appears in these photos b/c the camera's white-balance compensation.
I modeled the pdf outlines as svg so I could use a laser cutter to cut the card stock. I'm not sure svg will come through as an attached image, but the files are also available at https://risacher.org/lampshade/, including the openjscad source code.
I would love to see what all the disassembled parts look like on a trailer (or even just in a pile on the ground.) I.e. How hard is the yurt to pack up and move?
