About:My hands are never empty. No matter where I am - home, work, bar, show, bus, anywhere - I am always working on something. It's like I don't know how to flip off the power switch to my hands, but socially awkward though it can be, I wouldn't have it any other way. When I am making, I am myself. I'm communicating with the world in the purest way I know, the only language I feel fluent in. While I'm primarily a printmaker and a fiber artist, I'm forever trying to learn more. There is so much in this world that fascinates me and so much still left to discover. Whenever I find myself thinking "Oh I have no idea how to do that" the next thought is usually "but I wonder if I could do it anyways..." My work is largely influenced by folklore, childhood bravery, feminine strength/pride, campy 90's television, ghost stories, and natural history. I try to keep an ear to the ground and really pay attention to what inspires me, and try my hardest to translate that fascination into something tangible. I opened my etsy shop in 2009, while I was still in college, but found it hard to connect with the digital marketplace. I've spent the years since then putting down roots in my city and participating in as many local art events as I could, but now I'm feeling ready to dip my toes back into the wide ocean of the internet and try to reach a larger global audience. My hope is that you can feel a connection to my work, and that you can feel the love I pour into every stitch, line, and ink dab.
