It's built into the blind leading the blind, because the seeing eye dogs are the leaders, but in that world they wouldn't be called seeing eye dogs, more 'sniffing nose dogs'. They aren't very effective for anything.
Definitely evolve the mammalian ability to fly as a terrestrial biped, and you pretty much have to be a vampire.

Hey, you've been a member for substantially longer than I have, but I haven't noticed forum postings from you until recently. If it's not overly intrusive, I'm curious about the control room shown in your avatar. Are you a physicist? A nuclear engineer? I am research staff at SLAC, working on BaBar (now dead), and ATLAS (not yet alive).
Hehehehe - check my instructables, and you'll notice my one on 911 emergency... That was during my practicum here at FREMS - Foothills Regional EMS. I wasn't yet wearing the uniform. I'm a 911 dispatcher for ~50 fire stations and ~18-25 ambulances, on a given day in Rural Southern Alberta, Canada. Your position sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm glad that you didn't just list which chemicals to pour together but actually explained the reaction (which is what I was really interested in anyway) and gave the equations! Thanks for the warning too . . .I knew it's plenty dangerous to have this stuff haphazardly lying around (and so do not plan on actually making any) but anyone can read the instructions. . . good on ya!
