I like your project and I really enjoyed your short tutorial on designing the box in Fusion 360 using parametric design. I have just been starting to play with Fusion 360 so it was very useful for me. I am thinking I may build this same thing to use as a tuning knob for my SDR programs, I am curious about the feel of the encoder, does it have any weight to it? Is it fairly smooth to spin fast or slow? Thanks for the great instructable!
I think you may be right, that might be more what I am looking for. Thanks for the suggestion. I will mention one more time I loved your Fusion 360 demo. I have recently been going through some tutorials but none of them had showed me yet how to use the custom parameters to make the design more flexible. I will say that Fusion 360 does have a lot of associations it makes that are sometimes automatic but you can add or remove them as well that also help you to make quick modifications, but it isn't exactly the same thing. (for example, parallel or perpendicular associations).
